Argentum was incorporated in June 2009 with a philosophy predicated on providing value added services for the mortgage agent and mortgage brokers in order to deliver an exceptional service experience at the consumer level. Argentum recognizes that rates are not the only point of differentiation when aiding Canadians with arguably the largest liability of their lives (mortgages). There are a number of mortgage brokerages in Canada that provide extremely competitive rates but Argentum believes that rates have essentially become a commodity and there is a compelling need to provide borrowers with far more during the mortgage experience. We believe that the wealth of experience within the organization enables consumers to markedly notice our difference.

Senior Management

Ron Hrynyk, Chairman

Ron Hrynyk is an established entrepreneur and private investor with more than 25 years of experience in financial service companies . He is Chairman and part owner of the business offering a range of products and services from the financial services sector, where he gained his 25 years of experience as a leading licensed Financial advisor in Canada. He has a extensive background in corporate finance and has worked with Monarch Wealth Corp, a leading Mutual Fund Dealer in Canada’s investment community. Mr. Hrynyk has also worked with the investment finance groups of Canaccord Capital Corp, C.M. Oliver Inc, Midland Walwyn, National Bank and First Marathon Securities. Mr. Hrynyk also serves as a director of the King Valley Golf Club community. He has provided extensive funding for some of Canada’s leading public companies.

Albert Collu, CPMA, President and CEO

Albert is a diversified senior manager who possesses extensive business development and operations experience. Albert’s expertise includes development and implementation of strategic plans, mentoring and developing individuals, building and nurturing relationships, and executing and co-ordinating from an operations perspective. Albert’s past experiences include National Manager roles for two of the top lenders in Canada and past President of a mortgage brokerage. Albert is proud to currently serve on the Board of Directors for the Independent Mortgage Broker’s Association of Ontario (IMBA) as the Vice President and Chair for the Professional Standards Committee. Albert is committed to his people and is constantly trying to move the bar higher as it relates to the standards of service within the mortgage industry.

Peter Fairhead, Regional Vice President Alberta

Peter Fairhead brings substantial experience to his new position as Regional VP and Principal Broker, for Alberta. Peter has been licensed for seven years in the mortgage industry and licensed as a mortgage broker for over four years. Peter co-founded the Alberta operation for a national brokerage in 2006 growing the company to one of the largest in Alberta. Peter also brings over ten years in the banking industry “assisting people in making their lives easier.” A self-described “Transaction Facilitator” Peter stands for integrity. Peter also believes strongly in providing individuals with useful and relevant information.

Peter is a member of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce and has appeared as a subject matter expert (SME) on Global TV – Edmonton and CBC- TV—National.

Going forward Peter’s goal with Argentum is to build the company in Alberta and then to move into BC.

Jackie Woodward, Senior Adviser

Jackie was born and raised in Alberta and has devoted her entire career to the financial industry. Her wealth of experience which spans over 30 years includes investments, loan and mortgage development, as well as managing and underwriting. While holding management and executive positions with national financial institutions she gained extensive knowledge and experience in the mentoring and coaching of many individuals to move them towards success. She brought these attributes to the mortgage broker industry in 2001 when pursuing new challenges and endeavours after years spent with financial institutions and built her own successful book of business as well as a team of top producers
